What often happens is we just keep adding wood, starting new things but when we don't deal with the old it suffocates the new.

A wine skin becomes old and unusable when the inside becomes dry and cracks.
Rubbing oil on the outside won't make the old new. The only way an old wine skin can become new we have to somehow get to the inside.
